Save on Prescription Drugs....

With our new Prescription Discount Card!

The City of Union has a new program to offer savings on prescription drugs to residents who are without health insurance, a traditional benefits plan, or have prescriptions that are not covered by insurance.

The Prescription Discount Card is made available to residents by the City of Union in collaboration with the National League of Cities (NLC) and is made possible through City of Union membership in NLC.

The card is FREE to all City of Union residents, regardless of age, income, or existing health insurance.  By using this card you may save an average of 20% off the regular retail price of prescription drugs at participating pharmacies.

This is not insurance.  Discounts are only available at participating pharmacies.  By using this card, participants agree to pay the entire prescription cost less any applicable discount.  Savings may vary by drug and pharmacy.

PURCHASE POWER ADJUSTMENT

On January 1, 2009, Lockhart Power Company entered into a new contract with Duke Power.  Since the City of Union purchases power directly from Lockhart this contract between Lockhart and Duke will affect the monthly wholesale bill the City receives from Lockhart.  To offset any increases or decreases in power cost the City is implementing a Purchased Power Adjustment (PPA).  The PPA will be reflected on your monthly bill.

Service Line Warranties

The City of Union is notifying residents of a program provided through a partnership between the National League of Cities (NLC) and Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA).  This program offers a warranty available to homeowners for repairs on the outside sewer line that runs from the home to the utility connection.  SLWA was selected by the NLC as an Enterprise Programs Partner.  After a decade in business, SLWA has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.  The National League of Cities, representing over 218 million Americans, is the nation's oldest and largest organization devoted to strengthening and promoting cities as centers of opportunity, leadership, and governance.  For more information on this program, or to enroll, please visit SLWA's website at http://www.utilitylineprotection.com.
