JOB OPPORTUNITY 

The City of Union currently has a vacancy for the position of a Fleet Mechanic II in the Vehicle Maintenance Division. Under general supervision is responsible for diagnostic, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of makes and models of passenger automobiles, trucks, computerized engine controls, heavy road building equipment, and air compressors. Provides lead supervision to Fleet Mechanic I. Reports to the Fleet Maintenance Director.  Perform other duties as required. 

High school diploma or GED required, with vocational or technical training in automotive repair or a related field; supplemented by five years of experience in automotive repair; experience in repairing and maintaining heavy equipment is preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.  Must have a valid S.C. driver’s license.  (preferably CDL).

 JOB OPPORTUNITY 
 
The City of Union currently has a vacancy for the position of a licensed Biological Wastewater Treatment Operator. This position involves laboratory, technical, maintenance, and groundskeeping work in the operation of a biological wastewater treatment facility. Applicants must be able to perform a variety of tasks and be willing to work in a team environment.  Must be able to obtain an “A” biological wastewater treatment license within the required time frame which will be dependent on current certification level.
 
Preferred requirements include a high school diploma with vocational/ technical training in the field of wastewater treatment operations, or any equivalent combination of education and training. Must have a valid S.C. driver’s license (CDL preferred).

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

PUBLIC NOTICE
 
The City of Union has two (2) positions open on the Planning Commission for an expired term. These positions are for a three-year term to expire June 30, 2026.
 
The Planning Commission works closely with the City of Union Planning Department.
This Commission meets to consider and make recommendations to the City Council concerning zoning ordinances or resolutions and annexations.  The Commission also makes regulations for the subdivision of land and appropriate revisions thereof within its jurisdiction.
 
These positions are appointed by the Mayor and City Council.
