The City of Union currently has a vacancy for the position of Fleet Mechanic I in the Vehicle Maintenance Division. Under general supervision, repairs and maintains a variety of makes and models of passenger automobiles, trucks and heavy and light road building equipment owned and operated by the City of Union. Reports to the Fleet Maintenance Director.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with vocational/ technical school training and a minimum of two years’ experience as a mechanic’s helper in automotive repair; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have a valid S.C. driver’s license (preferably CDL).

The City of Union has one (1) position open on the Board of Zoning Appeals for an expired term. This position is a three-year term to expire December 31, 2024. The Board of Zoning Appeals works closely with the City of Union Planning Department.
This board hears and makes decisions on appeals dealing with the City of Union Zoning Ordinance.
There are also two (2) positions open on the Building Appeals Board for expired terms. These positions are a four-year term to expire December 31, 2025.
The Building Appeals Board works closely with the City of Union Planning Department. This board hears and makes decisions on appeals dealing with the City of Union Code of Ordinances and International Building Codes. These positions are appointed by the Mayor and City Council.
