JOB OPPORTUNITY 

The City of Union currently has a vacancy for the position of a Fleet Mechanic II in the Vehicle Maintenance Division. Under general supervision is responsible for diagnostic, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of makes and models of passenger automobiles, trucks, computerized engine controls, heavy road building equipment, and air compressors. Provides lead supervision to Fleet Mechanic I. Reports to the Fleet Maintenance Director.  Perform other duties as required. 

High school diploma or GED required, with vocational or technical training in automotive repair or a related field; supplemented by five years of experience in automotive repair; experience in repairing and maintaining heavy equipment is preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.  Must have a valid S.C. driver’s license.  (preferably CDL).

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
 
The City of Union is seeking applicants for the position of Main Street Junction Facility Manager to perform a variety of duties related to the overall operation, maintenance and marketing of Main Street Junction.   The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, motivated to develop processes and accountability models to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. Minimum job requirements will include creation of a strategic marketing plan to promote and advertise facility; oversight of creation of marketing materials; website and social media maintenance; face to face outreach/presentations to potential clients; and facility tours.  Also provide administrative support to the City Administrator, Finance Director, Human Resource Director, and the Mayor. Performs such activities as typing correspondence, reports, and other materials, answering phones, and providing information to citizens. Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associates Degree in related field preferred from an accredited college or university.
  • One season of experience in a position assisting in facility, event management, tourism programs, customer service or a related field is desirable.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid South Carolina driver’s license. Possession of, or ability to obtain, CPR and First Aid certificates.
 Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
