The City of Union Finance Department is responsible for the day-to-day financial transactions of the City, including City Taxes and Utility Billing.  This department oversees all financial accounts of the City and also works closely with all departments, the Mayor, and the City Council in formulating the City's annual budget.

Each year, City Council adopts a Budget Ordinance approving a fiscal year operating budget for the City. The City's Fiscal Year is from July 1st to June 30th.


 

To sign for Utility Services please visit the Utility Department at 101 Sharpe Ave, Union or if in the Pacolet/Spartanburg area you can also visit Pacolet Town Hall at 180 Montgomery Avenue, Pacolet.

Service Requests:

Representatives are available Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.  

  • To inquire about Electric, Gas, Water and Sewer services
  • For billing inquiries on Electric, Gas, Water and Sewer services
  • To report a gas leak (constitutes an emergency)
  • For questions about trees in relation to utility lines
  • To request repairs on street lights or yard lights
When calling for service on your account, please have your account information on hand and ready to supply to our customer service representatives.  Having this type of information ready BEFORE calling will help ensure your call
is processed quickly and correctly.

Start/Stop Service:

Be prepared to provide the following information:

  • Name, Date of Birth and Social Security Number
  • State issued photo identification card
  • Tax ID number, if applicable 
  • Paperwork for the address of the property to receive service (rental agreement/ownership papers)
  • Mailing Address
  • Email Address (optional)
  • Daytime, Evening and Mobile phone numbers
  • Date service is expected to start/stop
A utility deposit may also be required to establish service based on credit.

Residential/Commercial Service Setup:

You will be asked to complete an application for service.  Identification will be required and you may apply for
service between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, excluding holidays.  Same day service is available from
8:30 am - 4:00 pm.  Same day service is available after 4:00 pm for an additional $75.00 fee.

Jonesville/Pacolet/Spartanburg areas:  You will be asked to complete an application for service.  Identification will
be required.  Same day service is available from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm.  Same day service is available after 3:00 pm for an additional $75.00 fee.

Discontinuing your service:

When you wish to discontinue your services, please come by our office or Pacolet Town Hall during regular business hours.

Need to report an outage?

No problem, we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for outages and emergencies.  Simply call 864-429-1717 during business hours and our after hours line at 864-429-1707.


Reminder

When making a payment online or over the automated phone system, please remember to call the office to reinstate services if your utilities have been turned
  off for non-payment.
